Why I wanted a personal site for my mods and extensions
The projects and their notes were scattered across platforms and folders. I wanted to give them a steady place to return to.
I didn’t start this site by estimating how many people would visit. There may be very few, and that’s fine. I wanted to get the place in order first.
Mods live on the Workshop, extensions have store pages, and the work behind them is spread across local folders and documents. An idea becomes something usable, then changes several times. Coming back later doesn’t always mean finding the right version easily.
Put the entry points together
Each project needs a page explaining what it does, where it fits, how to use it and where to get it. Other platforms can continue handling installation and subscriptions. This site helps people find the project and understand its current shape.
Someone arriving from a mod can discover other work. Someone reading an article can find the project it refers to. I’d rather maintain one place gradually than keep copying a long list of links everywhere.
Leave room for the process
A usage guide explains functions and limitations. A note can explain why an idea started, what changed along the way, or why a particular choice remained.
Not every article needs a big conclusion. Recording what actually happened is enough. I also don’t want personal life to turn into a supply of polished site copy. Photos, notes and everyday updates can wait until I have something to post. Empty areas can stay empty.
A place for feedback and friends
Project comments keep feedback close to the work, and a guestbook gives visitors somewhere else to leave a few words. I also want people to have their own pages and shared spaces they can build with friends.
Registration will use activation codes. Public work remains readable without an account, and guests can comment. More tools, or web versions of parts of an extension, can come later, one step at a time.
For me, this site is first a place of my own. Somewhere to keep the work, write down ideas, and be found by friends passing through.
